The Kern & Northern Los Angeles Counties Air Conditioning and Sheet Metal Workers’ Apprenticeship & Training Center is located in the city of Bakersfield California. Established in 1972 and revised in 2019, the apprenticeship standards of its Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee (JATC) are state and federally approved to provide related supplemental instruction (RSI) and on-the-job training (OJT) to the membership of SMART Local Union 105, who work for signatory employers in the sheet metal industry.

Our jurisdictional coverage area includes Kern County and that portion of Los Angeles County, north of a straight line drawn between Gorman and Big Pine, including the cities of Lancaster and Palmdale.

You can apply to our program online or in person at our training center Monday-Friday between the hours of 9am-3pm. We are closed for lunch 12pm-1pm daily.
