First and foremost, you will need to come in person to the JATC Training Center and complete the application in person. If you do not come into our office in person, to complete the Application process, your application will incomplete. We will not be able to contact you for work.

We have a five year apprenticeship, you will start out as a first year apprentice, you will need to attend school at our training center, as well as maintain a passing grade. We do not pay you to go to school, these classes are required as part of the apprenticeship process. You will also need to work and maintain employment, through the union with any contractor that we send you to.
If you maintain employment, and a passing grade, you will receive a raise in pay ever six months, as well as advance in the apprenticeship program. After you complete the five years of your apprenticeship, you will then journey out.
A first year apprentice start out at $21.91 taxable wage. (See Apprentice Wages Page) You will also receive a full benefit package with heath, eye, 401 and a pension, this total package, including the taxable wage is $32.55.
As of now, we do have a waiting list for applicants. If you do not fill out our application so we can add you to our waiting list, we cannot call you when we have a space available. We highly encourage you to come into our office in person and fill out our application.
You will need to make an appointment with our office (Phone: 661/ 832-1187) to bring in the documents needed to complete the application process.
You must be 18 years old, or older.
- Copy of your High school diploma, GED or state Equivalency.
- Valid California State Drivers License.
- Social Security card.
The CDL needs to be valid, and your SS needs to be the original copy. All items above must be presented at the time of your application, or we cannot process your application. At this time you will also take a math test for evaluation. (Go to KAHNACADEMY.ORG for free math tutoring)
Please make us aware if you have any Sheet Metal experience, if you are a Vet (w/Honorable discharge), or if you were a part of the MC-3 Program. (w/ completion certs.)
